Surprises

Almost two months ago, I made a couple of star quilt blocks for the Moda sponsored project called "Just One Star."  I didn't think anything else about that until I went to get the mail a few days ago. 

I've heard of charm packs, jellyrolls and layer cakes, but these little gems are 2.5x2.5. 

There are 42 of them.  Not sure how I will use them yet, whether to use all alone or add some off white squares.  FYI, the program ends May 1, 2011.

About that same time as I made the star blocks, I made and sent a quilt block to a NC organized charity event for Binky Patrol.   Again, I didn't think anything else about it...

Until I got an email.  It said that because I had sent in a block, I had been entered in the contest to win a $25 gift certificate.  Guess what?  I won!

Both of those gifts were really nice surprises.
