It's Finished

Project Modern: Challenge 3 has come to an end.  I submitted my quilt last week, a few days before the entry came to an end.
A few days later, I received this email:
                    Project Modern to me
                   Jun 28

                   Teri,
I wanted to let you know that your entry for Project Modern Challenge 3 was received
and has been entered.  Thank you for your entry and good luck!
                    Jacquie

Now that's done, I will reveal the whole quilt.  The entrants had to write about their interpretation of the word "organic."  Here's mine:

“100% Cotton” defines organic. Cotton is crisp yet comfortable. Cotton is my jeans,
fitting like a friend. By day, my favorite cotton shirt wraps me in softness and warmth
while Egyptian cotton sheets cradle me each night.

"A creative interpretation of the chemical composition of cotton, nature’s organic
colors represent the elements oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. The fabrics are
hand-woven Indian shot cottons, with different color weft and warp threads that
produce rich colors that move and catch light. Originally drafted as a wallhanging,
my husband asked for the quilt. I modified the drawings to make his lap quilt. "
cool picture of the unfinished back
I could enter two photos.  The next two are those.:
i think it looks calligraphic, like some asian symbol
i like this picture because the sun shining through it allows you
to see the front and the back, as well as good detail of the quilting.
Winners will be announced July 15.  Wish me luck!

  1. Good luck! You did an amazing job! I love how the drawing translated to the finished project. Is it peiced? Applique? It looks so cool and I'm glad your hubby liked it enough to ask for it, that's always the best compliment :)
