I won a prize AND...

...found my local Modern Quilt Guild!  More on that in a moment!

In conjunction with the Tula Pink event, it was the grand opening of The Little General quilt shop.  There were prizes in a give-away.  On Friday, I had an email that I was one of the winners. The note said not to worry about rushing over, BUT the prizes were on a first come, first served basis.

I was extremely sleepy-headed for some reason.  And it got much worse in the car.  Maybe it was because I had just gotten home from taking my dad to a seafood lunch.  At any rate, I didn't feel safe to drive alone.  I'd actually planned on taking a nap when I got home from lunch.

Instead, I begged Byron to ride over with me.  Among the prizes were a layer cake and a jelly roll of the yet unreleased Tula Pink line called The Birds and The Bees (and it's fabulous!)  Thus, my scamper.

Alas, alack, the lady before me took the jelly roll and the layer cake was already taken. *Waah, wah!*  But this FANtastic fat quarter stack from FreeSpirit was still available.  I greedily snatched it up, LOL!  Not really, there were only a few peeps in the shop, one being another winner.

There are 15 lovely rainbow colored FQ's... a nice stash addition, me thinks!

On another happy note, while at the Tula Pink talk, I located Flickr friends and among them were MY local Modern Quilt Guild!  I hadn't looked for them because... well, there's just not much 'modern' anything around these parts of Podunk.  I was pleasantly shocked at the reality of the group's existence!  And I found out just in time for the next meeting.  I'm excited!  For more info, click on the icon over there in the right sidebar --->
